Name
How Epidemiology Can Inform Clinicians: A Characterization of Care Needs in Older Adults
Date & Time
Saturday, November 15, 2025, 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM
Kaleb Frierson
Description

Older adults represent a vulnerable and growing subpopulation of patients who frequently rely on emergency medical services (EMS) during health crisis. However, significant disparities exist in the quality and consistency of prehospital care they receive, often influenced by factors such as social vulnerability, medical complexity, and resource availability. This talk will explore disparities, drawing on epidemiologic evidence to identify risk factors and gaps in care for
older adults. Finally, we will discuss how EMS providers can leverage this knowledge to improve care delivery and patient outcomes in the prehospital setting.
