Daniel McCarthy is a Deputy with the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, assigned to the Special Operations Division as both a SWAT Operator and Tactical Paramedic. In this role, he supports high-risk law enforcement missions, tactical medical operations, and specialized technical rescues, integrating advanced clinical expertise with tactical proficiency in complex and high-threat environments.

A practicing paramedic for more than 22 years, Mr. McCarthy has extensive experience in prehospital emergency medicine, trauma care, and tactical casualty management. In addition to his operational service, he has been a prehospital educator for over 15 years.
