Marley Barduhn has dedicated 54 years to Emergency Medical Services, serving in a variety of roles including EMT, Paramedic, Certified Lab Instructor (CLI), and Certified Instructor Coordinator (CIC). She is a Clinical Director of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and has extensive experience as an educator, planner, counselor, and researcher. Her professional interests and expertise include EMS research, public health, responder wellness, and the advancement of evidence-based practices within emergency medical services. Throughout her career, Marley has been committed to improving patient care, supporting EMS professionals, and contributing to the growth and development of the EMS profession.

Susheel Balachandran is a compassionate EMS volunteer and seasoned technology executive with more than 25 years of experience in public safety, emergency response, and large-scale systems management. As a certified EMT and Special Operations/Oxygen Lieutenant, he brings firsthand insight into the emotional and psychological challenges faced by emergency responders.

Passionate about promoting mental wellness within EMS, Susheel is dedicated to developing sustainable peer support programs that strengthen resilience, particularly among younger EMTs and volunteer providers. His unique combination of field experience and executive leadership enables him to create structured, practical, and impactful support systems that help responders thrive both professionally and personally.

A proven leader in high-pressure environments, Susheel is committed to advancing responder well-being and fostering a culture of support, connection, and resilience across the EMS community.

Tom Corcoran has served as an EMS provider for more than 25 years and currently works as a firefighter/paramedic with the City of Watervliet Fire Department in New York. Throughout his career, he has been a dedicated advocate for first responder wellness, resiliency, and peer support.

Tom serves as the coordinator of his department’s peer support team and is a subject matter expert on the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES) Working Group on Growing Mental Health Clinicians. His work focuses on strengthening mental health resources for emergency responders and promoting a culture of wellness within public safety organizations.

In 2025, Tom was selected as a New York State Division of EMS Resiliency Officer Fellow, collaborating with EMS leaders from across the state to advance initiatives that support responder mental health, resilience, and long-term well-being.

Brian Newell is the Director of Operations at South Jefferson Rescue Squad, leading a hybrid EMS agency with a strong focus on performance, accountability, and team development. As a participant in the New York State EMS Mental Health Resiliency Officer Fellowship, he is dedicated to advancing provider wellness, building peer support systems, and reducing stigma in emergency services. Known for his decisive leadership, clear communication, and commitment to mentorship, Brian works to strengthen both operational excellence and the long-term resilience of his team.
